A world in crisis. A fractured frightened and unhappy society. A daily litany of doom on the news from morning to night.
The world’s financial institutions haemorrhaging wealth and security like Niagara Falls. And in response to the crisis incompetent leaders run around like headless chickens, spending our money like a drunken sailor in a tawdry backstreet bordello.
All the while a global depression inches ever nearer.

Windfall of the Wise is a response to the many problems we all share in this life. Problems brought about almost exclusively by the controlling presence in our lives of money.
In the present financial climate the stress of living with money is all too evident.
If you have it, someone is always trying to take it off you. If you don’t have it you know that life can be one hell of a struggle.
It has been at the root of almost every conflict.
It is at the bottom of corruption and the majority of all crime.
It is the absolute cause of poverty and hardship.
And it rules our lives to such an extent that we are losing our grip on our humanity- every waking hour spent chasing after it, or desperately trying to hold on to what we have already got.
It can even be argued that the health of Mother Earth herself is in dire jeopardy as a direct result of this absurd pursuit of financial wealth.

After years of mentally wrestling with this problem, author Max Speed has formulated an alternative idea.

 The ‘phone rang at precicely seven o’clock on the evening of Christmas eve. The American voice on the other end was that of my design consultant, a charming young lady by the name of Amanda. I was impressed by her punctuality.

 After the mutual introductions had been dealt with we got down to the business of discussing Windfall of the Wise. Our conversation centered on my ideas for the cover design of the book, and we agreed upon a…no, not yet, I’ll let you in on those details after I have seen the proof copy, and then only when I am happy with it.

 We also went over the size of the book, the font style, and a rough idea as to how long the process will take until it is out ‘on the bookshelves’. Best case scenario, about six weeks, this is providing that all proof copies are acceptable to me, and no alterations have to be made. Worst case scenario-how long is apiece of string?

 We finished talking after about half an hour, and Amanda left me with the thought that in two to three weeks I will be presented with the first proof copy of the book’s cover to either accept or reject.

 So, you see, things are moving forward rather nicely. There will be further updates as I walk this publishing road.
